Adaptive and Protective Functions of culture

Abstract. The article analyzes of the of E.S. Markarian’s adaptive-negentropic concept of culture and shows that it is not completely identic to the protective function of culture in author’s interpretation. Possibilities of synergistic, cybernetic and Bayesian approaches to the analysis of basic functions of culture are considered.
