Abstract. The article gives full attention to scientific and philosophical reflections on worldview and social foundations of Tibetan Buddhism in connection with A. Devil-Neel’s book "Mystics and Magicians in Tibet", and descriptions of various rituals and conversations with Lamaism anchorets given in the book.
