Russia, West, East in the Situation of Crisis of Eurocentrism
Abstract: The article discusses oriental influences on Russian culture of Silver age in 19th-20th century, and especially the popularity of oriental motifs in poetry. The article states that the fascination with the East in the Russian culture of the time was widespread and it was associated with the ideological crisis of Eurocentrism. The relationships of that artistic Orientalism with the later ideas of Eurasianism are traced.
