Culture in Digital Epoch:
Cultural Meanings and Aesthetic Values

Abstract. The article examines the problem of fate of art works in the epoch of predominance of Internet culture and digitalization. Basing on the essay by W.Benyamin “The work of Art in the Epoch of its Mass Representation” the author develops the idea about the contradictory character of influence of modern technologies on art works. On the one hand, due to digitalization and strategies of mass culture classical art becomes available all over the world. On the other hand, it does not mean its adequate perception by unprepared audience. The conclusion is made about the necessity of systematic art and aesthetic education, so that vast information about art and its works could serve the development of aesthetic and ethic values of our contemporaries.

Keywords. Culture, art, technology, perception, digitization, informatization, globalization, aesthetic values, classical heritage.
