The book is a joint publication of three works on culture studies by A.Y. Flier including his textbook "Thesaurus of the basic concepts of cultural studies", 2000 (published in the edition of 2010) , thematic systematic collection of articles 2000-2012 "Culturology as a science and as a trend in education" and his essay "A ternary functional model of culture", 2010 (co-authored with A. Kostina) . These works represent Flier’s view of culturology as a science, its cognitive tasks, levels of generalization and its structure , as well as his opinion about the contents, format and social goals of culturological education.

 

The book is intended for culture researches, professors of culturology, doctoral and post-graduate students conducting research on culturological science and education.
