From the culture of modernity to the "post-culture"

Abstract. The article presents the ideas of the author's concept of "post-culture". First, problems are posed that force us to reconsider the traditional concept of culture, which is defined by four procedures (comparing cultures, specifying their integrity, degree of development and uniqueness). Then the author characterizes the connection of the concept of culture with the concept of modernity. At the same time, modernity is considered as a project of building a new world on the basis of man's mastery of nature. The author explains the introduction of the concept of culture by the problems that arose during the implementation of the Art Nouveau project. in the post-culture, it includes, on the one hand, the processes of transformation and transition characteristic of our time, on the other ‒ the formation of a new culture ("future culture"). both sides of this new cultural formation are outlined.
