The book is a collection of articles by N.A. Khrenov that includs 25 articles written since late 1990-s to 2013. The articles are grouped into sections "Culture in a Situation of Transition", "Methodology art studies in a culturological perspective", "Problems of historical culturology" and "Mass art forms in the context of culture". The materials of the book represent the views and methods of analysis of the problems of development of culture and arts worked out by Russia's leading theorist of artistic culture N.A. Khrenov.
