History of art as a culture of entertainment: a person entertaining

Abstract. The article considers the function of art to amuse the public and draws a conclusion about the purely auxiliary nature of this function in the history of art, despite its mass demand. However, the closer to the present time, the more tendencies in the massization of art suppress the classical criteria of beauty.
