Love in culture and family: yesterday and today
(based on the novel by Meir Shalev "Two bears Came out of the forest")

Abstract. The article gives the author's interpretation of the interpretation of love in the novels of the famous Israeli writer Meir Shalev. The author comprehends the images and evolution of love in the works of the writer, on the one hand, from the point of view of cultural studies, on the other ‒ the features of the modern family, on the third hand, the values and creativity of the individual. Shalev's love and family, at first glance, are not connected. But this is if we are talking about the love of spouses or lovers. However, in his novels, a great role is also played by love for parents and children, love for nature (earth, flowers, birds, animals, etc.) and even, in part, for history and his people. If we take all these forms of love together, then in this case love clearly has to do with family and more broadly with sociality.
