Zhukova O.A. Philosophy of Russian culture. Metaphysical perspective of man and history. - M.: LLC ""Izdatelstvo "Soglasie"", 2017. - 624 p.
The monograph by O. A. Zhukova, a Russian philosopher and cultural scientist, Professor of The national research University "Higher school of Economics" examines the cultural and philosophical subjects that have become traditional for Russian thinkers of the XIX–XX centuries and have not lost their importance for modern philosophers of culture and history, philosophical anthropologists, historians of Russian thought. The research focuses on the problem of semantic interdependence of religious, artistic and socio-political tradition in Russian history, which is thematized by the concept of man, culture and creativity. In the history of Russia the problem of continuity of spiritual and social experience, inheritance and translation of the values and meanings developed by the previous experience of culture reveals itself. This logic of transformation, which destroys the ideal value sphere of culture, is manifested in Russian intellectual and social history as a contradiction between the freedom of the person and the traditionalism of power, which is inalienable in the Christian tradition, marking the opposition of liberalism and conservatism in Russian public thought. The author outlines the outline of Russian cultural history, continuing the discussion about civilizational, cultural and political identity of Russia. The monograph problematizes the theme of the philosophy of creativity, interpreted in Russian culture as a way of salvation and moral service, analyzes the artistic and religious traditions of Russian culture, reconstructs the image of Russia and Europe, represented in the national consciousness.
The publication is addressed to researchers, students and graduate students specializing in the history of Russian thought, philosophy of culture, philosophical anthropology, aesthetics, as well as a wide range of readers interested in the problems of philosophy of Russian culture, history and art.
