The Nature of Social Institutions: 

Cultural, Historical and Methodological Analysis

 

Abstract: On the material of three cases the article analyzes the formation of social institutions in culture. The notion of a social institution is analyzed as well. The article discusses some problems of social institutions such as the existence of the institutional communities which are interest in destruction of social institutions, the need for invention of new schemes, rules and procedures, awareness and self-description of a new practice. The hypothesis that social institutions are the bodies of self-subsistence of culture as a form of social life is formulated.
