Prospero’s dreams told by the language of modern music:

Thomas Adès phantasmagoria on "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare

Abstract: The article presents a cultural analysis of the opera 'The Tempest' by contemporary composer T. Adès which is based on Shakespeare's tragicomedy. The author raises a number of issues related to the possibility of telling by the language of modern music about works relating to a different era and representing another cultural form. The issue of the dynamics of cultural meanings when changing historical and cultural contexts is also raised.

Key words: context, culture, temporality, classical, cultural form, language interpretation, work, meaning.
