The Interaction Between Art Studies and Cultural Studies:
Methodological and Historical Aspects (Part 1)

Abstract: The article presents the author’s understanding of cultural studies as contemporary “art studies without names”, based on theories of numerous philosophers and scholars of the past. The author interprets his understanding from the standpoint of cyclic conception of culture, which he shares. The article also substantiates the author's view of art as the main historical and social form of culture.
