The Mission of Russia and its Relations to Europe
in the Diaries of the Writer by F. M. Dostoevsky
Abstract. Based on the fundamental research of V. Zenkovsky "The History of Russian Philosophy", the author shows that Dostoevsky thought and sought solutions to the problems of Russia within the framework of the cultural tradition outlined by M. N. Karamzin and P. Ya. Chaadaev. The article considers the essence of this providential Orthodox concept, its development in the" Diaries of the Writer " by Dostoevsky, as well as in the works of Konstantin Leontiev and Alexander Solzhenitsyn. The break of this tradition as a result of the October Revolution of the seventeenth year is discussed. The following methodology is implemented: problem-setting and situational analysis, cultural and historical reconstruction of ideas, comparative analysis of views, hypotheses, confirmation of their texts by the corresponding authors. As a result of the study, two main results were obtained. First, to see Dostoevsky's socio-political search and solutions in a new way, in particular to show that he thought within the framework of the Orthodox providential social concept (tradition). Secondly, to analyze the concept itself and its fate.
