The psyche of the deviant personality in the mirrors of family and culture
(in the footsteps of Daniel Keyes ' The Multiple Minds of Billy Milligan»)

Abstract. The article analyzes the history of the formation of multiple personality. The author shows that each independent "personality" that is part of a multiple personality is actually a separate and subjectively conscious mode of the psyche. These modes are formed both under the influence of cultural scenarios, and the implementation of strong, compensatory desires of the individual. In some cases, such phantom personalities are understood by the individual as belonging to his family.
