Abstract: The article examines the process of desacralization of the revolution in modern Russian culture on the example of domestic cinema and the formation of a critical view of it. The main negative features of the revolution, which are emphasized by modern directors, and the general negative impact of the revolution on the development of cinematography in the USSR are also investigated.
