Theatrical culture in the era of transformations: eternal values or the triumph of mass culture?
Ekaterina Shapinskaya's conversation with People's Artist of Russia Zhanna Romanenko-Nadezhdina

Abstract. The problems of theatrical culture in the era of informatization, digitalization and domination of mass culture are discussed. The transformations of cultural forms and aesthetic values under the influence of the socio-cultural dynamics of our days are considered. The question of the status of the classical heritage in the theatrical art is raised. The author highlights the problem of interpretation of the work and its boundaries, the violation of which is a concession to the audience preferences of the mass audience. It is concluded that it is necessary to preserve the traditions of theatrical culture, taking into account the requirements and challenges of the time.

Keywords. Artistic culture, theater, cultural form, creativity, classics, province, mass culture, commercialization, aesthetic value, tradition.
