Paradigms and Schools of the Theory of culture of modern Russian cultural studies

Abstract. The article examines the main domestic research paradigms and scientific schools devoted to the general analysis of the theory of culture. The dominant definitions of culture itself, its meanings and functions, explanatory models of cultural properties inherent in these institutions are identified, and the general significance of research paradigms and scientific schools in the processes of cognition is described. In total, six research paradigms and ten scientific schools related to the theory of culture were identified.
